TokyTokinz & Marketplace

TokyTokinz is the in-engine currency of TokyubeVoxelVerse, and the Tokyube Marketplace is the storefront it powers. Together they form the economy where creators sell scripts, skins, models, and materials, and where players spend their tokinz on the work that makes their experience their own.

Overview

The marketplace is reachable directly from the title screen (left of the main menu's button column) under the TOKYTOKINZ MARKETPLACE heading. From there you can jump into any of the four marketplace sections, top up your balance, or peek at upcoming categories.

This page documents both halves of that economy:

  • What TokyTokinz is, how to earn it, and how to spend it.
  • How each of the four marketplace sections works for buyers and for creators.
  • How payouts, tipping, and transfers work.
  • The roadmap for upcoming marketplace features.
The marketplace is currently in COMING SOON on the title screen — every panel loads, but live transactions begin with the public Alpha rollout. The buyer/creator flows below describe the shipping design.

What Is TokyTokinz

TokyTokinz is the universal in-engine currency for everything you can buy or sell inside TokyubeVoxelVerse. One balance, scoped to your Tokyube account (keyed by your Steam ID), spent across every marketplace category, every world, every creator.

  • One ledger. No per-world wallets, no region-locked currencies. The balance you see in your Wallet is the balance you spend everywhere.
  • Account-bound. Tokinz are not tradable for real currency between players directly — earnings from the marketplace pay out into your wallet, and payouts to real-world accounts are gated through the Publishing & Payouts flow.
  • Stable display. TokyTokinz balances and prices show as integers; sub-tokinz amounts (used for fractional tipping) round to the nearest whole tokin when they hit your wallet.

Earning TokyTokinz

Five ways to grow your balance:

  • Sales on the marketplace. Every script, skin, model, or material you publish earns tokinz when another player buys it. The split is the default 85/15 creator/platform unless your contributor tier negotiates a different rate.
  • Tipping. Other players can send tokinz to your wallet from any marketplace listing or TokySocial post.
  • Daily play rewards. Active accounts earn a small daily tokinz drip that scales with playtime, capped weekly.
  • Achievement unlocks. Unlocking Steam achievements pays out a one-time tokinz bonus.
  • Top-up purchases. Convert real-world currency to tokinz via the Purchase TokyTokinz panel.

Spending TokyTokinz

Anywhere a tokinz price appears, you can spend with one confirmation tap. Spend categories include:

  • Buying marketplace listings (scripts, skins, models, materials, and — eventually — TokyNodes).
  • Tipping creators on the marketplace or on TokySocial.
  • Boosting a TokySocial post into Discovery (planned).
  • Sponsoring a public world's hosting cost (planned).

Every spend writes to your transaction history, visible from the Wallet app. You can download a CSV of your full history at any time from the wallet settings.

Your Wallet

The Wallet app on TokyPhone shows:

  • Current TokyTokinz balance.
  • Pending payouts (sales not yet cleared from the 7-day creator hold window).
  • Recent transactions, filterable by type (purchases, sales, tips in, tips out, top-ups).
  • A QR-style receive code for quick in-world tipping between players standing next to each other.
  • Send / receive controls, plus a "favorite recipients" list for friends you tip often.

Marketplace Overview

The Tokyube Marketplace is a single storefront with four starting sections. The title-screen panel exposes one button per section plus a top-up button:

  • Codeblock Scripts — published Tokyube Code Blocks scripts, ready to copy into your Saved Scripts Library.
  • Custom Tokytar Skins — animated and static avatar skins authored in TokyTar Stylizer.
  • 3D Models & Materials — external meshes (FBX / OBJ) and Tokyube-friendly material packs.
  • Purchase TokyTokinz — top-up flow that converts real-world currency into tokinz.

Listings carry a price, a creator handle, a verified badge (where applicable), preview media, a license blurb, and a one-tap buy button. Every purchase routes to the creator's wallet (minus the platform fee), with a 7-day creator hold for refund eligibility.

Codeblock Scripts

The first section of the marketplace, surfaced as Codeblock Scripts (white button). It hosts ready-to-use Tokyube Code Blocks scripts that buyers copy directly into their Saved Scripts Library.

For buyers

  • Browse by category (Triggers, Animations, Mini-games, AI, Vehicles, etc.) or search by keyword.
  • Each listing includes a preview image, a short description, the block stack, and the generated JavaScript so you can audit before you buy.
  • Purchases drop a copy into your library. The original listing keeps version history so you can pull updates the creator pushes later.

For creators

  • Publish from inside the in-world Saved Scripts Library — a "Publish to Marketplace" action on any saved slot opens the listing form.
  • Set a price, write a description, choose a license (Standard, Royalty-Free, Educational), pick tags.
  • Update the listing at any time; subscribers can opt to receive updates.

See Tokyube Code Blocks for the block reference.

Custom Tokytar Skins

The Custom Tokytar Skins section (light-sand button) hosts skins authored in TokyTar Stylizer, both static and animated.

For buyers

  • Preview a skin live on a rotating Tokyube avatar before buying.
  • Animated skins preview at the creator's chosen FPS so you know exactly what you're getting.
  • Purchased skins land in your TokyTar Stylizer skin library; apply them with one click and the skin replaces your active avatar (with the same Save-to-Account flow you'd use for a self-authored skin).

For creators

  • Publish from the Stylizer's export panel — a "Publish to Marketplace" toggle next to the standard Save-to-Account button.
  • Royalty splits available for collaborator credits when two creators co-author a skin.
  • Animated skins ship as the same per-frame PNGs + manifest you'd export to disk.

3D Models & Materials

The 3D Models & Materials section (sand-color button) covers external meshes and material packs — the assets that ride on top of voxels, FBX entities, and TokyNodes.

  • Models — OBJ / FBX meshes ready to import with FBX Attach Mode or to promote into a TokyNode.
  • Materials — tile-able PNG sets + metallic/smoothness/transparency presets that match the Stylizer material sliders. Drop one onto an FBX import or a Stylizer skin and it just works.
  • Bundles — multi-asset packs (a vehicle with paintwork variants, a furniture set, etc).

For creators

  • Upload .OBJ / .FBX with Tokyube's standard validation (poly count limits, texture-size limits).
  • Materials publish from the Stylizer's material panel — the same metallic/smoothness/transparency triplet a buyer will apply.
  • Bundle SKUs let you ship multi-piece sets without listing each piece individually.

Purchase TokyTokinz

The Purchase TokyTokinz panel (dark-sand button) is the top-up flow that converts real-world currency into tokinz that land in your Wallet.

  • Pre-set bundles cover the common amounts (small / medium / large / mega), with a custom-amount input for any sum between the min and max.
  • Bundle prices include a small bonus on the larger tiers — buy more, get more.
  • Payment processing routes through Steam Wallet by default, with Stripe-backed credit-card support coming for non-Steam launches.
  • Receipts land in the Wallet app's transaction history and as an email to the address on the Steam account.
Top-ups credit instantly. If a payment is flagged for review, the tokinz lock until clearance — the purchase is fully refundable during that window.

Publishing & Payouts

Selling on the marketplace requires a verified creator account:

  1. Open the Wallet → Creator tab.
  2. Click BECOME A CREATOR. The flow asks for a display handle, an optional Tokyube tag (e.g., @yourname), and an ID-verification step (KYC) handled through Stripe Identity.
  3. Once verified, all your future "Publish to Marketplace" buttons go live. Listings can include a co-author split.
  4. Earnings accumulate in your tokinz balance. The first payout to real currency unlocks after $25 (USD) equivalent and clears the standard 7-day hold.

Default split is 85% creator / 15% platform. Verified studios and high-trust contributors negotiate custom splits.

Tipping & Transfers

Two flavors of player-to-player tokinz movement:

  • Tipping — public, attached to a listing or post. Tips show on the recipient's profile as a public stat (count, not amount).
  • Direct transfer — private, peer-to-peer. Send tokinz between Tokyube friends with an optional message; receipts appear in both wallets.

Both flows go through the host-authoritative tokinz ledger — the transfer is atomic across both wallets so a connection hiccup mid-transfer never produces a half-applied transfer.

Trust & Safety

  • Verified creators. ID-verified accounts get a checkmark on listings and profiles. Buyers always know whether the seller is verified before tapping BUY.
  • Refund window. Every purchase is refundable for 7 days unless the asset has been actively used (e.g., the script has fired triggers, the skin has been worn into a multiplayer lobby).
  • Reporting. Listings, posts, and DMs all have a one-tap report flow. Reports queue into the Tokyube moderation backend and trigger automatic escrow on flagged listings.
  • Anti-fraud. Volume-spike detection flags suspicious sales patterns; affected accounts get a temporary payout hold pending manual review.
  • Underage protections. Minor accounts cannot publish, monetize, or top up beyond a small capped amount.
