Imposter Syndrome

IMPOSTER SYNDROME FOR GOOD GRIEFS — a social deduction party game inside Tokyube. Crew the ship, run your tasks, and work out who among you is faking it. Or be the impostor: kill quietly, vent between rooms, cut the lights, and talk your way out of the meeting.

Overview

Imposter Syndrome is a complete social deduction game built as a single file: a crewed ship, a task list, a killer hiding among you, and a meeting table where it all gets argued out. It runs solo against bots or online with friends, and every piece of its art is original and procedural — drawn by code, not imported.

It's a DOOM Industries production by Tokyoh Von DOOM. It is an unofficial fan tribute and is not affiliated with Innersloth.

Play Free in Browser

Play it right now at tokyube.com/impostersyndrome — free, in your browser, with no time limit. Nothing to install, no account, and online rooms work straight from the web page.

Launching & Returning

  1. Open DISCOVER NEW WORLDS from the main menu.
  2. Imposter Syndrome sits in the featured row at the top of the portal.
  3. Hit ▶ PLAY — the game launches directly, no world install.
  4. The ◀ BACK TO TOKYUBE button (top-left of the title screen) returns you to the VoxelVerse title screen. It's styled in the game's own chunky crew look, appears on the title screen only, and scales with your Options display-resolution setting.

How It Plays

Crewmates win by finishing every task on the ship, or by voting out all the impostors. Impostors win by killing until they equal the crew, or by letting a Reactor or O2 sabotage run all the way down.

E (or the USE button) opens tasks, panels, the Emergency Button, the Admin table and the Security cameras. R reports a body. M or Tab opens the map, and Esc pauses. A bar in the top-left tracks the crew's total task progress, so you can see how close everyone is to winning.

Dying isn't the end of your job: ghosts keep doing tasks — or haunting, if you'd rather.

Playing the Impostor

  • Q kills a crewmate standing near you.
  • F drops you into the vents to move around unseen.
  • The map doubles as your sabotage console: lights, reactor, O2, comms and doors.
  • Fake your tasks to blend in — standing at a panel doing nothing is exactly as suspicious as it sounds.

Meetings & Voting

A report or the Emergency Button freezes the round and calls everyone to the table. The bots aren't guessing: they genuinely remember what they saw — who they were with, who they watched vent, and who they caught killing. Argue with the quick-chat buttons, then vote. Ties and skips eject no one, so a split table buys the impostor another round.

Online Rooms

PLAY ONLINE from the title screen. Host a room and you get a five-letter code; anyone who types that code joins you. The host starts the round when everyone's in. Rooms run on live realtime networking with presence, so you can see the lobby fill up as people arrive.

Online play needs an internet connection — offline, the button tells you so and the rest of the game carries on as normal against bots.

The Wardrobe

The lobby has a full cosmetics wardrobe, all of it drawn procedurally: Colors, Gradients, Hats, Visors, Arms, Pets and Auras. Custom gradient and aura pickers let you mix your own two-colour combinations rather than picking from a fixed list.
